Design Concept : Orchard Road, Sidcup

Our client's home was required to meet the needs of a growing family. With three daughters access to the bathroom was a daily battle! The doting parents required us to create spaces that offered both privacy and areas for the family to meet and stay connected. The three bedroom semi-detached house was optimised for our client with additional space created via loft conversion, first floor alterations with additional bedrooms, side extension and ground floor rear extension.

Before and After

Key to the proposal was to extend the kitchen and join the existing dining room into the new extension to create a naturally lit open living area for the family.

Bi-folding doors would replace the existing bay windows to gain access into the rear garden.

The south-west extension would be carried up to first floor with new double glazed windows front and back in a matching style and finish to compliment the existing mock Tudor aesthetic.

A single-storey extension was created at the rear of the property featuring a new open-plan kitchen/dining area flooded with natural light, interlinked with private spaces that can be fully opened onto via crittall double doors.

The space created by the south-west extension was fully utilised up to loft level. The loft bedroom’s sleeping area, framed by the extension, allowed for maximum headroom in the centre of the space, unobstructed by rafters and providing good access to the en-suite bathroom and storage facilities.
